Shepherds Huts made in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. A family business run by Paul and Carylann.

We set up the business in 2018 after making a Shepherds Hut for ourselves.

We became interested in the history of these functional living vans, and their original purpose, not only as shelters for Shepherds and their sheep but as living working vans for travelling roadworkers and other tradesmen. We enjoy the welcoming appearance and curiosity that a Shepherd’s Hut brings to everyone who sees them. We love how these homely shelters sit so comfortably on the land, not interfering with the surrounding landscape and looking better with age.

Living in a rural area in Dumfries and Galloway surrounded by sheep farms, it seemed like a good idea to make these huts for sale and the business grew from there.

Paul has over 30 years of experience as a builder and bespoke gate maker and Carylann manages the office side of things and holiday lets.

Our huts are all bespoke to customer specifications. We particularly enjoy meeting our customers, talking to them and helping them plan their hut.

Our huts are handcrafted and built to last. Each has its own character and purpose, and will eventually have its own story to tell.

We build our Shepherds Huts with their original purpose in mind; to be able to travel to its new resting place and to provide a warm comfortable shelter  for those who are lucky enough to stay in them.
